"Big Brother US" season 17 concluded its three-month run on Wednesday night.
After battling in the last three games of the summer, 22-year-old Steve Moses was named as season 17's champion.
The college student from New York brought home $500,000 after beating out his biggest competitors, Liz Nolan and Vanessa Rousso.
Before Steve was crowned as "Big Brother US" season 17 winner, he first had to compete against Vanessa and Liz in a series of challenges.
In the first challenge, Vanessa won, but this didn't mean anything because the final Head of Household (HOH) for the season will be the one to decide on which houseguest he or she will take to the finals.
Ahead of Steve's decision, Vanessa tried to manipulate Liz by telling her that she had a deal with Steve that the latter will take her to the final 2.
However, what Vanessa did not know is that Steve has long realized that Vanessa only aligned herself to his game when she felt that she can no longer win over the Austwins.
At one point, Vanessa even told Steve that taking Liz to the final 2 could jeopardize his game because the latter will automatically have the votes of Julia and Austin to her favor.
Towards the end of the competition, Steve decided to stick with his gut when he remained true to his plan to backdoor Vanessa.
For Steve, eliminating Vanessa from the game could earn him more votes from the jury. This is because no one was able to kick out the professional poker player from the competition.
On Wednesday, Steve received a total of six votes from the jury, while Liz received three votes from Julia, Austin and Vanessa.
James also received $25,000 after he was voted as America's favorite houseguest.
"Big Brother US" season 18 will premiere in the summer of 2016.
