Gemma Collins removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house and receives stitches in hospital after slicing her finger open

Gemma Collins was removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house and taken to hospital in Sunday night's episode.

After cutting her finger 'through to the bone', the former TOWIE star, 34, received treatment from a medic in the diary room before being escorted off the premises.

The 34-year-old was then given stitches following the accident which happened as she peeled potatoes in an attempt to lift morale in the house.

Before the accident, Gemma was in high spirits after she was awarded a professional blow dry at the expense of her housemates.

But in an effort to make the house a happier place, Collins was tasked with peeling some potatoes by former X-Factor hopeful Christopher Maloney.

However the Essex entrepreneur somehow managed to cut herself, declaring: 'It's through to the bone', at which point Maloney and Darren Day rushed to her aid.

The unfortunate incident occurred just as day after Gemma and Danniella Westbrook broke free from the Celebrity Big Brother house but only to change their minds at the last minute.

The reality Tv star and the ex EastEnders actress staged a diva-style walkout, breaking through the fire exit to freedom following an explosive row with housemate Stephanie Davis.

The huge bust-up came after housemates Darren Day, John Partridge and Christopher Maloney discovered a pair of dirty knickers belonging to Stephanie, stained with what they described as 'pigeon s***'.

The blondes then joked that her close pal Jeremy McConnell - with whom she has a very flirty relationship, despite having a boyfriend outside the house - would probably wash them for her.

Dannielle event went as far as to mock that the Beauty School Cop Outs star would use the knickers as 'dental floss'.

Unbeknownst to them, Stephanie overheard their gossip mongering and was furious.
'Anyone who is asking about the red knickers, yeah they're mine', the brunette beauty raged, before accusing the housemates of 'bullying' her.

Danniella then seized the moment to quiz Stephanie about comments she made regarding her breath smelling, but the ex-Hollyoaks star lashed out, saying the claims were untrue.

Following their almighty clash, Danniella took to the Diary Room to rant about Stephanie's behaviour, taking a dig at her overly friendly bond with Jeremy.

Gemma then convinced her sidekick Danniella to pack her bags and break free through the fire exit, declaring, 'Dan let's just get our stuff and go'.

The pair were cajoled back into the house by their co-stars, but it was Big Brother who finally convinced them to stay.

Explaining their walkout to the rest of the house, Gemma declared: 'Things have been said the last couple of days, which you might not be aware of, that are hurtful to her [Danniella] and hurtful to me. We're not made of steel; we're not made of rock. It's hurtful.'

Meanwhile, Stephanie was furious with the duo mocking her for her dirty pants.
'I wouldn't do that to embarrass someone. I don't think some people are very nice people in here', she vented, before shouting: 'I'd love to see Gemma's f***ing smelly vagina.'

'I really can't wait to just go home to my mum and dad and just have nice people around us.'
Feisty American Tiffany Pollard took Stephanie's side and headed out to the garden to console her later in the evening.

'I'm really disgusted about what happened to you,' she told the feisty brunette.
'I'm sitting here, I'm keeping my peace, but I really wanna talk about it because I just don't think that s*** is right.

'You might not wanna know, but I want to know who put your underwear up there. The person who did that needs to be singled out.'

A CBB spokesperson told MailOnline: 'After speaking to Big Brother, Gemma and Danniella decided to remain in the house.'
