Angie Bowie Quits 'Celebrity Big Brother' One Week After Ex-Husband David Bowie's Death

Angie Bowie quit Celebrity Big Brother, Us Weekly can confirm. The news comes just one week after the death of her ex-husband, David Bowie.

"After being unwell for a few days, Angie Bowie has decided to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House," a rep for the show tells Us in a statement.

As previously reported, the iconic musician died at the age of 69 on Sunday, January 10, after an 18-month battle with liver cancer. Angie, 66, decided to stay on the reality show as a contestant after producers informed her of his death.

"The decision to remain in the House is entirely her choice, and she has been given the option to leave at any time if she changes her mind," a rep told Us at the time. "Appropriate support will be available to Angie at any time if needed."

The "Space Oddity" singer and the former model — parents to son Duncan, now 44 — split in 1980 after 10 years of marriage. Angie broke down in tears over the legendary artist's death on January 10. "I haven’t seen him in so many years," she said in Celebrity Big Brother's confessional. "I can’t make a big drama out of it. I just feel like an era has ended with his passing. I’m so very sad."
