Ofcom is assessing claims that comments made by John Partridge to Tiffany Pollard were racially motivated, and Megan McKenna has faced criticism for calling her 'ghetto'
Celebrity Big Brother is in the midst of a racism row, after comments made to and about Tiffany Pollard scandalised viewers.
Ofcom is assessing claims that comments made by John Partridge to the young American reality TV personality were racially motivated.
Partridge said: "[Tiffany] only wants to come to talk to us now cos she’s hungry and wants some chicken." after Ms. Pollard was asked by fellow housemates to leave the living room because she became hysterical after mistakenly thinking housemate David Gest was dead
She made this error when Angie Bowie told her that her ex-husband, musical legend David Bowie had died, but she misunderstood and thought David Gest had died.
Some viewers thought Partridge's 'chicken' comments on Tuesday night's show were of a racially motivated nature.
Following this, on Thursday night, more comments, which were claimed by viewers to be racist, were made against Ms. Pollard.
Megan McKenna lost her temper in the diary room and said Ms. Pollard was 'ghetto'.
Big Brother security stepped in and removed her after she screamed and referred to Ms. Pollard as a "c***".
Some viewers were angered by Ms. McKenna - of TV show 'Ex On The Beach' fame - and said her 'ghetto' comment was racist.
According to Ofcom there have been 211 complaints for Tuesday night's episode.
An Ofcom spokesperson said: “We will assess these complaints before deciding whether to investigate or not”.
