CBS confirms there are no current plans for bringing back the 'Big Brother Over The Top' series later this year for a 2017 season, though a later revival is still possible. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Speaking to Deadline earlier this week, CBS Interactive President and COO, Marc DeBevoise was asked if there'll be a return of the series which started up last year following the regular Big Brother summer season. DeBevoise said that timing "Was not easy".
"There are no plans to do another fall season of Big Brother on All Access but “we are looking at what to do next for that show.” - DeBevoise admitted.
Big Brother Over The Top (BBOTT) for those of you who didn’t watch it last year was a season of Big Brother that was exclusive only to CBS’ streaming service. Everything was shown on the live feeds, from ceremonies to competitions to Diary Room sessions. They did have recap episodes that you could watch, but they were much longer than your standard episodes of the normal Big Brother, hence why there was only one a week. READ MORE ABOUT BBOTT HERE.
Good news is that maybe we’ll still get a Big Brother Over The Top 2 at some point. I’d love something more balanced on the calendar. Hopefully they’ll figure it all out and we’ll get the best of all three series for North America Big Brother installments. But then you’ve got to work around the revived Big Brother Canada 6 as well.
