Reality show Big Brother has become such a long-running figure in pop culture, and it isn’t showing signs of stopping anytime soon. The show’s latest season is beginning to look rather promising, especially with the show’s casting director making more of an effort to have more fascinating folks joining the dynamic of the Big Brother Season 18 cast — particularly someone like, oh, you?
Joining the Big Brother Season 18 cast could be anyone at this point. Robyn Kass, the show’s casting director, is on the hunt to have people from all walks of life join the team. Reportedly, she wants to have someone “amazing” in the cast for this season; someone who is not only attention-grabbing, but engaging and is capable of maintaining such an energy around other people.
“I think it gets harder and harder every year because we’re trying to find different types, different personalities, different energies, different looks, representing different places of the country,” said Kass on who could make it to the Big Brother cast this year.
It looks like Kass is looking for anyone who can stand out, and that could easily be anyone — even you.
“Now, Season 18, I just want totally different things, so sometimes it’s more difficult,” she continued. “That being said, sure. If somebody amazing is in front of me — it doesn’t happen all that often, but yeah, sometimes they just have that ‘It Factor’ and you’re like, ‘I want more.’”
On how she picks out eligible candidates, Kass compared the selection process to that of interacting with guests at a dinner party. “It’s the inflection in their voice,” she explained. “It’s the way they laugh. It’s the way they speak. You want to hear more. It’s the same thing when you’re casting for Big Brother.”
It looks like Big Brother could be looking for anyone — maybe even you, especially if you fit the bill for not only eligibility, but the qualities Kass is looking for in a candidate as well.
