Big Brother’s biggest superstars are headed to TV’s longest-running game show. Nine Big Brother alums will guest star on The Price Is Right to play alongside superfans of the CBS reality series. According to Mashable, Big Brother fan favorites Frankie Grande (Season 16), Will Kirby (winner, Season 2), Janelle Pierzina (Seasons 6, 7 and 14), Rachel Reilly (winner, Season 13), Jeff Schroeder (Seasons 11 and 13) and more will appear on a primetime edition of the iconic game show.
The other Big Brother alums who have signed on to the special edition of the game show include Season 14 champ Ian Terry, Brittany Godwin (Seasons 12 and 14), James Huling (Season 17), and Da’Vonne Rogers (Season 17). In addition to the cast members, longtime Big Brother host Julie Chen will make an appearance on the hit game show. The only thing missing is Zingbot.
The Big Brother special is one of three reality TV mashups slated for The Price Is Right. In addition to Big Brother, casts from Survivor and The Amazing Race will come on down to compete against fans for cash and prizes on the Drew Carey-hosted game show. The Big Brother cast will appear on the May 24 episode of The Price Is Right.
CBS is known for pulling Big Brother cast members into some of the network’s other programming, but this game show homage to three of its reality hits is a first. Two years ago, 13 former cast members from the CBS reality show made cameos on the network’s daytime soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. Some of the Big Brother alums featured on the daytime drama included Big Brother Season 16 fan favorites Donny Thompson, Caleb Reynolds, and Zach Rance, as well as memorable Big Brother alums Amber Borzotra, Cody Calafiore, Nicole Franzel, Devin Shepherd, Hayden Voss, Elissa Slater, Jordan Lloyd, and Brendon Villegas. Two of the future Price Is Right contestants, Rachel Reilly and Jeff Schroeder, also made cameos on the CBS soap. The Bold and the Beautiful episode featured the Big Brother alums attending the show’s annual Halloween party at Bikini Beach, and there were all kinds of Easter eggs for diehard BB fans to pick up on.
One Big Brother cast member, in particular, was a bit star-struck by his sudden soap stint. Donny Thompson told TV Guide he was nervous but excited by his acting debut.
“I have a fear of speaking in front of people, so I’m a little nervous to be going on a glamorous soap opera,” Thompson said. “They’ve got me wearing all sorts of outfits — surgeon, soldier, you name it. Wait till they see this back home! I’m going to be in scenes with Scott Clifton, who they tell me has three Emmys and that he loves Big Brother and is a big fan of mine. Huh? I’m just a little groundskeeper from nowhere and I have a fan who’s a big-deal actor in Hollywood? I’d be happy just to mow his grass.”
Even before this fun casting announcement, several Big Brother cast members had already been in the news in recent weeks. Rachel Reilly just gave birth to her first child with her husband, fellow Big Brother alum Brendon Villegas. And Jeff Schroeder just announced he is expecting his first baby with his Big Brother castmate Jordan Lloyd, and the too-cute couple dropped this tidbit: They secretly got married earlier this year.
