Big Brother Season 18 is premiering this June and fans have been getting excited as BB18 will be an all-star season!
Reportedly, this season will be making up for the past season slump that the show has been experiencing and producers are gearing up to make things more interesting.
While the new changes are being kept under wraps, one thing’s for sure: half of the contestants will be all stars and the other half will be newbies. On top of that, the premiere will be compressed to two hours instead of 2 days and rumor has it that the casting team is going “back to the basics”.
On the season debut, 30 players will be battling it out in a competition for a spot in the house and the losers will get some kind of consolation prize that is unclear at this point — they tried this before but due to the lack of die-hard fans in the contestant pool (which comprised mostly of recruited players), it made for boring television.
Big Brother Network has called for auditions and set the deadline for April 22, with the casting director choosing contestants based on applications, auditions and casting calls. BBN’s casting team has a tall order this season after promising that they would not be using any recruited players.
Rumors of the “All Star” season are also being fueled on social media by contestants who’ve been posting that previous Big Brother housemates have been spotted at the open casting calls.
This bold move might do the trick in bringing back the show to its status when it first began, as the competition between the all-stars and super fans sounds interesting enough. Fans have a long wait until the season premiere but the all-stars will reportedly include well-known athletes, singers, actors and dancers.
Robyn Kass gives some tips to the Big Brother hopefuls about individuality, saying that they look for “a group of people who are very different from each other.”
