Season 18 of Big Brother begins on June 22, promising another year of summer fun and big game moves. What do CBS studios look for when searching for the cast of Big Brother? Casting director Robyn Kass appeared on CBS LA to promote the auditions for Big Brother's Season 18 and this year, she's looking for something new.
When asked if she could elaborate on who will and who won't make it on the show, Kass states it is not always clear.
“I think it gets harder and harder every year because we're trying to find different types, different personalities, different energies and different looks representing different places of the country. Now, Season 18, I just want totally different things, so sometimes that's more difficult. That being said, sure. If somebody amazing is in front of me and it doesn't happen all that often, but yeah, sometimes they just have that “it” factor and you're like, “I want more.””
Kass went on further to describe the search as being relative to a dinner party where some people are able to pull you in when telling a story and others are not. Kass did urge applicants to come to the interview with plenty of energy, looking their best and keeping their minds open, without any planned monologue.
If you're interested in applying for Big Brother Season 18, applications are being taken until Friday, April 22, 2016. Applicants unable to make it in for casting calls can apply online at bigbrothercasting.tv.
The website warns that all applicants must meet eligibility requirements to be considered.
“Any applicant is more than welcome to apply online and come to an open call but you only have to do one or the other to be considered.”
Big Brother Season 18 will premiere Wednesday, June 22 at 8 pm. ET/PT on CBS. As with past seasons, the show will be seen on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights in the beginning, falling back to two nights a week later in the season.
