‘Big Brother’ casting call is April 3 in Minneapolis: 5 things to know

Representatives from the CBS reality show “Big Brother” are coming to the Twin Cities in search of new houseguests.
Considering trying out? Here are five things you should know about “Big Brother” and the open casting call happening in April.
1. Auditions for the show will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 3 at WCCO-TV (90 S. 11th St., Minneapolis). You can also apply online. Season 18 will be filmed this summer.
2. You must be 21 and up. You must also be a United States citizen and live in the U.S.
3. The type of people “Big Brother” representatives are looking for during the open casting call? Folks with “ambitious, competitive, outgoing personalities.”
4. What you must be willing to do if you are chosen as a “Big Brother” houseguest: Live in a house with a group of strangers where everything you do is recorded with cameras and microphones 24/7. You basically lose contact with the outside world while living in the “Big Brother” house.
5. What else happens in the house? Each week, houseguests compete in challenges and vote to evict someone from the house. The final houseguest remaining wins $500,000. Last season, 17 houseguests competed against each other. The winner was Steve Moses.
