This afternoon Channel 5 has confirmed the date in which Celebrity Big Brother will retun to our screens for its 2016 run.
It only seems like 5 minutes since the last series of Celebrity Big Brother came to an end, but we now know that the first Celebrity Big Brother series of 2016 will launch on Tuesday, January 5 at 9pm on Channel 5.
It’s not that odd for Channel 5 to launch a series of Celebrity Big Brother midweek as series 15 launched on Wednesday, January 7 in 2015.
At the moment, not a lot is known about the new series of Celebrity Big Brother. A couple of days ago the brand new eye was released by Channel 5, and it’s certainly interesting as it doesn’t follow the conventional ‘theme’ we’ve become used to seeing over the past few years.
Key words such as ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, ‘Evict’, ‘Twist’, ‘Save’, and ‘You Decide’ are emblazoned across the eye, which doesn’t give away an initial series theme, like the ‘Twisted Fairy Tale’, and ‘UK Vs. USA’ eyes did.
However, what we do know is that the house itself will have a “grittier undertone” to it with echoes of the “vaudeville theatres of a bygone era”, which tells us that the celebrities will not be living in the lap of luxury this year.
“Celebrities will descend down a majestic staircase, leading to glamorous rooms made up of rich opulent textures and packed with intriguing curiosities,” Channel 5 revealed in a press release.
We’re already excited for the new series of the show. Let’s just hope that Big Brother delivers as the January series’ of the show are usually pretty good – sometimes even better than the summer series’.
Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 5 on Tuesday, January 5 at 9pm.
