Big Brother 2016 will be "very different", apparently

Channel 5's boss has promised 'big changes' to Big Brother in 2016.

The reality series has been airing on the channel since 2011 and over the past few years there have been some highs and lows.

2015 was a particular tough year for the series with the latest two series this year airing to the lowest viewing figures in history.

However Channel 5's Director of Programmes Ben Frow has vowed to take a look at the format and said the new shows next year would be "very different"

Speaking at Broadcast magazine’s Commissioning Forum event in London this month, he said: “Big Brother 2016 is going to be very different to what you’ve seen before. I am going to take a big look at it.”

Big Brother on Channel 5 has already seen some major changes with Emma Willis having replaced Brian Dowling as host after two years.

The show now airs three series very twelve months and earlier this year it was announced that Channel 5 had signed a new deal worth £120 million that will see Big Brother remain on air until at least 2018.

The latest run will be Celebrity Big Brother 2016 which is expected to start in the first week of January in the New Year.
