Forget men on the moon and Christmas cats. Forget big corporations spending millions on major adverts trying to get you to spend money with them….
All that matters now is that Big Brother’s Simon Gross has released a Christmas song called ‘Showbiz Christmas’!
In case you had forgotten, Simon Gross became the first housemate ever to be evicted on launch night back in the summer, leaving us only with the memory of his “SHOWBIZ!” catchphrase that he roughly said one million, three hundred and seventy-eight thousand times in that one night alone.
Simon subsequently came back as a housemate on day 18 as part of a Timebomb twist before being evicted on day 46 once his housemates and the public grew tired of his moping, fake tears and random outbursts of “SHOWBIZ!”
But now, ‘Mr Showbiz’ is back with a novelty song for Christmas. The songs lyrics hark back to his time in the house with lines like ‘I write a letter in the diary room, it says “Father Christmas won’t you help me soon?”‘ and a chorus that spells out ‘showbiz’ as a Christmas themed acrostic poem ‘S is for Santa, H is for Holly…”
It’s a song that will leave you chilled, not just through the wintry music, but because you come to realise that this time there is no phone number to dial and evict him.
If the song itself wasn’t cheesy enough, the video is even worse. Clearly filmed with a budget of £5, Simon is seen partying in front of a green screen for the first half before venturing down to his local Tesco to persuade their customers to go and shop at Aldi, Sainsbury’s, or anywhere else where you won’t hear the words SHOWBIZ echoing down your spine.
