‘Big Brother 17' Becomes the Longest Season of the American Version to Date

The recently concluded Season 17 of the American reality TV series “Big Brother” on CBS is officially the longest season of the US version to date, lasting for a total of 98 days, which is one day longer from the previous record.

Season 17 of “Big Brother US” also had the highest number of houseguests to date at 17. It premiered on June 24 and ended with its season finale on September 23.
As of this time, every fan of the popular reality TV show knows that Steve Moses, bested Liz Nolan with a jury vote of 6-3 to become Season 17’s Big Winner.
Following the 90-minute season finale, viewers started making an assessment of Season 17 of the “Big Brother US.” While many fans believe that it was the best to date compared to the show’s past seasons because of its unpredictable gameplay and bold houseguests, others simply found Season 17 lacking in big moments and truly dramatic characters, details Enstarz.
But overall, it had the necessary excitement to carry the show through to its season finale with excellent viewership ratings.
The season went off to a roaring start in June with alliances among houseguests constantly shifting in the first few weeks of the show.
But one by one, big personalities like Jake Agolli, Da’Vonne Rogers, Jeff Weldon, Audrey Middleton and Jason Roy were evicted during the first five weeks of the game, leaving the timid and more of the under-the-radar houseguests in the “Big Brother” house, which made up for less dynamics for the rest of the duration of the TV series.
Steve got the better of her
Vanessa Rousso, the final evictee of “Big Brother US” Season 17 before Steve Moses and Liz Nolan fight it out in the final 2 and the $500,000 prize money, does not feel betrayed with the strategy of Steve in the game.
She feels that Steve wanted to win so bad so he had to do what he had to do. But she was surprised nonetheless because she was thinking that Steve and she will be the final 2 for “Big Brother US,” details Design & Trend.
Vanessa has aligned her game with Steve for the past weeks leading to the final, and she was already pinning her hopes that it would just be and Steve in the finale night.
What she actually did not know was that Steve has always wanted her out of “Big Brother US.” And this was revealed by Steve just a few hours before the winner was announced. Steve actually told her that he cannot face her in the finals because he knows she will win over him.
As a professional poker player, Vanessa likes to bluff a lot and she was hoping that Steve would make a wrong decision for the last time and bring her to the finals. But Steve brought Liz so Vanessa could not help but respect Steve’s game in “Big Brother US” because the college student simply got the better of her and everyone else in Season 17.
The beanie that was hers
Vanessa also talked about the green beanie that she was wearing almost throughout the entire season. She revealed that she only washed it once during her entire stay in the Big Brother house.
But she claims that she is clean and that she also washes her hair daily. She said that she was wearing her green beanie inside the house because it is really cold inside. However, now that the show is over, she promised to trash her green beanie for good.
Vanessa was also part of the Sixth Sense alliance during the early goings of the “Big Brother US” Season 17 along with Liz, Julia Nolan, Austin Matelson, Clay Honeycutt, and Shelli Poole.
But Vanessa, Liz, Julia, Austin, and Steve also formed a side alliance called the Scamper Squad. The Sixth Sense was in power in the Big Brother house during the first five weeks but during Week 6, outsider James Huling won Head of Household competition and nominated Clay and Shelli for eviction.
During Season 17 of “Big Brother US,” Johnny McGuire a.k.a. Johnny Mac actually became one of the most popular houseguests in the house, as far as viewers are concerned. With her no-holds-barred and frank remarks as well as the light-hearted delivery, Johnny became a beacon of hope to many fans who found themselves disgusted with those houseguests in power.
While some found it frustrating that Vanessa, John, and Steve would take such a strong threesome as Austin, Liz and Julia to the Final 6, the gamble nonetheless paid off. Steve got the Final 6 Head of Household and nominated the Austwins, resulting to the eviction of Julia and Austin, with the help of Vanessa.
Vanessa was very dominant during the Final 3 and many of the fans of the show believed that she had the inside track on becoming the Big Winner. But it was Steve who made the call after winning the final Head of Household competition and nominating to evict Vanessa.
Just days after the season finale of “Big Brother US” Season 17, the show is already looking for new houseguests for Season 18 which will premiere on CBS in the summer of 2016.
