‘Big Brother 17’: When Steve Moses Won

For the uninitiated, “Big Brother” features 14-16 real people (and in seasons past a lot of scantily clad models) vying for a $500,000 top prize.
CBS’ Big Brother, a modern reality-type game show program, aired its Season 17 finale on September 23, 2015.
Favorite houseguest, based on “Big Brother” fan vote wasJames Huling. Here’s my recap of last night’s roller coaster of emotions! He was similar to Vanessa in the sense that he was able to read people because of his real-life job; unlikeVanessa, he didn’t make any enemies. This competition went on for hours.
Steve led most of the game, but Vanessa tied things up going into the final question.
Vanessa understood the reasoning behind Steve’s decision not to take her to the Final 2 while adding that she would have evicted Steve had the Final 3 HOH competition gone her way.
What did you think of Steve taking out Vanessa?
We picked out our own favorite to win Big Brother 17. And she did. And that’s all to Steve’s credit. Liz’s boyfriend and twin sister asked her why she’s so attractive and unbelievable.
After Steve and Liz gave their answers, the votes were locked in and the non-jury members took the stage. Another surprise was how Meg was being an advocate for Liz making it to the final three. According to his official cast bio, Moses was a goodie-goodie in high school, which earned him enough letters of recommendation to get him into the Ivy League university of Cornell to study Mechanical Engineering, (his good grades likely had something to do with it as well). They all say they’re all there because of Vanessa. But he may have been put off by her unwillingness to talk game with him.
Liz told the jury that in addition to winning many competitions – two HoHs, a Power of Veto, and a Battle of the Block – she aligned with strong competitors in the house whose alliance was tough to breach. Basically, his speech ROCKED. Three finalists Steve Moses, Liz Nolan, and Vanessa Rousso competed in the BB17 finale.
Mama Da got to shine, though, she had one of the best moments of the night, calling Austin out on whatever he was attempting with Judas all season.
But this past week, I had a sinking feeling that the manic yet brilliant player would lose her hand. Steve’s arguments were very valid and he argued them convincingly. Of course. BOOM! Steve is the final HOH of the summer. Regardless, Liz didn’t have an answer for all that.
“I am just so ecstatic for Steve right now”, Beth Dixon said. “I mean this as a student and super fan of this game”. His preparation was very reminiscent of Ian Terry, victor of Season 14, where he won over our Michigander Dan Gheesling.
At the eviction ceremony, Steve chose to send Vanessa packing, a big move that he believed was best for his game.
Predictably, the jury only asked three questions each to Liz and Steve. Shelli, Jackie and James argued strong tactics for Vanessa. They will get phrases with possible endings and they must match the ending. If Liz had behaved differently after Austin’s exit, maybe I’d feel different about her and her gameplay but that didn’t happen.
